East Surrey Morris Men returned to Winchelsea at the Spring Bank Holiday
Dancing came to Winchelsea for the May Bank Holiday. East Surrey Morris Men performed in Castle Street with two other Morris groups in front of an enthusiastic crowd, and what looked like potentially lethal dances with swords passed off without injury and to everyone’s delight.
The event was hosted by Winchelsea Guy Fawkes Society and seems to follow a tradition dating back to the time of the Castle Inn which closed its doors many years ago. More on the East Surrey Morris Men here.
